The giant, heavy, carved penis that is the centre-piece and focus of this festival.
Honen Matsuri, a spring festival in Japan, sounded so amazing, the Where Next Japan team took the day off and went out to make a video of it for you all.
Please watch (in HD) and enjoy! If you like it, please share with your friends!
Look out for more videos coming soon!

Thanks Honen Matsuri – I had quintuplets!
We LOVE that festival. It was so sad we had to work this year; next year we aren’t going to miss it for anything!
Did you pick up souvenirs? Our Christmas shopping for 2007 was pretty much sorted in one day. ^^

Haha, I bet everyone loved them too! We totally bought souvenirs – though mainly for Japanese friends and coworkers. It seems awkward giving fellow Westerners penis candies or vagina ashtrays…
Thanks for the comment!

Don’t forget to watch in HD!
The Where Next Japan team visit Honen Matsuri, Japan’s awesome, somewhat shocking, but mostly good family, fun-time fertility festival.

I live less than 5km away from Tagata Jinja and was at the festival this year. We must have been only metres apart.

Interesting and informative video. Although Tagata Jinja is not a suburb of Nagoya, it’s in Komaki City 🙂
